Aperture Priority @ 70mph + SNOW

It's a beautiful site to get snow where you normally don't.  The surrounding drivers must have thought me made to have the windows rolled down and snapping away with the camera!!

Thanksgiving day emergency run to grocery store

Whilst on a run to pick up "emergency desserts" for Thanksgiving I saw these trees in the parking lot, they screamed "SHOOT US", since I was not in the drivers seat I have no problem hanging out of the window with my camera.

Thanksgiving Coffee Cup runith Dry

Wireless Flash fun

This is a result of using an SB-800 as remote with a Gary Fong diffuser being used as a snoot by taking the cover off.

Long Exposure

Looking at my archive, I stumbled across this one, what struck me as odd is that it was done with a 25 second exposure at f16.  I forgot I let the camera sit that long open!

Cake Time

To truly enjoy the cake, you must become One with the cake!!

Soft Touch

This picture started out as a color shot but the lighting was very difficult, a mix of standard bulbs and fluorescent and all dim, the ISO is pushed to 500.  The B&W and softness done in CS3

Pier 39

These Seals know how to loaf about!  The place in the background is Forbes Island, a neat restaurant on the water, it is actually a self propelled vessel that started it's life in Sausalito.

Vehicular self port

Not to be content with a simple camera phone picture, NEVER.  Using my D200 with power grip with wide angle lens.

Mother Hen and the babies.

Another one at the Lake, A little CS3 work also.

Smile Bee

Close up shot.  Took this while the kids were hunting for pumpkins.

Reflective Mom on Mother's Day.

The red hat is a nice touch, it's like a rock causing ripples in a lake..

Free Style on the Walk of Fame

These guys were cool, and there were a lot of them!  Plus check out the belt on that guy in the green shirt!!

City Night Shot B&W

The B&W remind me of my high school days doing B&W shooting with my old, old older than F2 Nikon.  Wish I knew where that negative was.  It would be fun to see how many buildings have gone up since 1987 to now, as I remember it was a much clearer view of the  bridge from Twin Peaks.

More from the baby shoot

Jewels on a Gem for Jen

Electrolize low color coolness

I should probably post the color one of this also.

More Sky, now with juice, and other stuff removed

More CS3 action on this one.  The park was very empty too, the benefit of visiting right in the middle of a normal work day..

More Sky with some Juice

Using CS3 and one of my favorite Kubota actions, Hawaiian PUNCH!!

Big Kitty!!

I normally don't break out my 105mm 2.8 Macro.  Tonight I did and just shot random stuff in the house, playing with Nikon CLS with a Gary Fong attached.  The D200 is still proving to be a a viable work horse.  Click on the picture, it is a big picture.

Sunrise in San Francisco

This photo was made atop Twin Peaks in San Francisco, early in the morning.

I made him Famous

On my trip down Hollywood Blvd.  This guy saw my camera and asked me if I could take pictures of him paparazzi style, reason being he wanted to show off to some girls.  It kinda worked, plus he hammed i up pretty well.  He claims he is the Black Brad Pitt!!

texting, texting, 1 2 3

At the 09 school fair, my daughter was very excited as you can see.

bmxin' II

Another shot of the race. The camera guy standing on the track must be insured, haha, but I don't know, when I shoot, sunglasses, especially the colored optics, tend to hinder me.

bmxin'

I took these for a co-worker. His son does BMX racing, it's pretty cool, first time I was at one, the competition is intense between the kids.

Only in San Francisco

Rooter Bong? What?

Big group shot

This is a group shot I took of my co-workers, what a stressful shot.

Little One's too

This little guy hammed it up for the camera ever so briefly.

big sky in a little town

Was scouting a place to take some nice engagement photos, think I found a nice park, the sky is just amazing sometimes.

Hollywood BLVD

Even Edward Scissorhands wanted an official Michael Jackson glitter glove..

Drivers training

I am probably not a very good drivers instructor, I should be paying attention to the road, not the framing of the picture!!!

2/08 Eclipse

I took this last year from my back yard, had an pretty ok view. I forgot what planet that is at the lower left of the frame, ahh well, should have stayed awake in class more.

Oct 31st brings out the scary ones!!

another ISO 800 capture with the D200, only light was the flash light.

Curiosity has not killed the cat yet, maybe roughed it up a bit

800 ISO with very minimal Aperture noise reduction using old Nikon technology. I am pleased with the noise results.

Hot Times

Living in Fresno in the late spring/summer time makes me want to live here so very bad..

Sometimes

This picture is funny.  I am sure many people can relate to the feeling of being tied up, hopelessly bound by whatever it is keeping you down.  We may not roll on the ground looking crazy,,,,BUT maybe, that is a better alternative!!! HA

Tree Time

Time for small group photography.

The kids all wanted to hang out in a tree.  The older kids liked this tree because it looked like the "hang out tree" for teens that needed to exclaim love for each other.  This tree is in a secluded part of the park so it is easy for kids to graffiti on it.  The older kids said "the tree's got TUDE' Dude"...

Wedding Day Pic. Good timing.

In the hotel room getting ready, someone opens a window as someone is opening a door, a gust of wind takes the veil for a ride, good timing!!

Which Brings me to this one

Since the last picture showed a shot from the night time I thought I should post this one.  This was taken at the same place, which, by the way is Twin Peaks San Francisco, I neglected to mention that on the last post.  It was about 6AM the next morning.  Again, pretty darn cold, I am glad my gear stood up to the task.  Almost no tourist at all that early.  I have more from this morning, the colors change and blend so nice.

Night shot..cold....

This is Market St. in San Francisco at night.  My camera, lens and tripod we're to cold to touch.

This is a long exposure, and what is really funny, is that even at this time of night, 9:34 pm, tourists are still walking around, where I was set up, a gentlemen from the Asia region of the world, stopped to look at what I was doing.  He was quiet and kept his distance, for the most part, then he approached me and asked "you are taking pictures, right?".  I turned to look at him, smiled and said "yes".  He let out a loud "AH!" stopped to look at the scene, and then as I start another shot, he walks forward about 2 feet and proceeds to walk in front of the lens!!  I did not say anything, at that point I just wanted him to be on his way...
